Bird boarding in Holland Landing.

For our neighbours just north by the Holland River, in East Gwillimbury — quiet bird sitting and overnight boarding from a Newmarket studio, two households at a time, with a photo letter every day.

Holland Landing sits just north of Newmarket where Yonge Street crosses the Holland River, the historic riverside village that anchors the southwest corner of East Gwillimbury. It's a place with deep roots — the old Anchor Park, where a giant ship's anchor abandoned during the War of 1812 still rests, and the wetland trails along the river where you'll see osprey, kingfishers, and great blue herons working the water. The village core stays small and walkable, but newer subdivisions have grown south of Mount Albert Road, drawing families who want a foot in the country and a short drive to everything Newmarket offers.

That country-edge living is part of why Holland Landing owners come to us. Out here, the nearest small, attentive bird-boarding option is south over the river in Newmarket, and a kennel-style facility was never the right fit for a bird used to a quiet riverside street. We keep it deliberately small — two households' birds at most, in a sunlit studio room with no dog and no chatter TV — so the calm your bird knows at home carries straight through the stay.

The drive down is easy: south on Yonge or Bathurst, across the Holland River, generally ten to fifteen minutes from most of Holland Landing. Many residents already head south daily — to the East Gwillimbury GO station, into Newmarket for work and shopping, or onward to the city — so a bird drop-off slots neatly into a trip you're already making. For longer departures we can come to you, so a vacation doesn't begin with a carrier balanced on the passenger seat.

And the routine stays your routine. We feed the diet you send, on your schedule, and we keep the wake and cover times your bird expects. The room stays quiet — morning sun, a humidifier, nothing jarring. Each day you're away, a photo letter arrives with a few honest pictures and a plain note on the day. For a Holland Landing household that chose the river and the quiet, a short drive south buys boarding that respects exactly that — and proves it daily.
